Pollanisus (genus) (A Forester Moth)

Pollanisus species are difficult to separate, especially when only a photo is available.  The larger blue-green specimens observed in the ACT are usually P. viridipulverulenta.  Smaller specimens with narrower wings are likely to be P. apicalis.  Those with a bronze collar are similar to P. subdolosa which is common coastally.  The larvae of most Pollanisus species feed on Hibbertia.

It is likely that some of the records on this page are from other Zygaenidae genera, eg Myrtartona coronias and Turneriprocris dolens

Pollanisus (genus) is listed in the following regions:

Canberra & Southern Tablelands  |  Southern Highlands  |  South Coast  |  Hunter Region  |  Central West NSW  |  Riverina Murray  |  Hume  |  Grampians  |  Loddon Mallee  |  Tasmania
